Website is not loading (1 solution)

If you are like me, and you like to find the cheapest option for hosting your domain name and website, you have probably ran into more than enough problems just to keep your website running. And because you chose a different hosting places for your domain and website, there is a problem and your website just will not load...

One solution and one problem might be IP forwarding...

Because the cheapest option for website hosting usually is a shared hosting plan, which means that the IP address of your website is shared between many others, it periodically changes. That is, the IP address where your website is located changes after a while.
And because your domain is hosted elsewhere, the IP address has to be changed manually by changing the DNS records. And here is how....

    1. Lets check on what IP address our website is located now. If you can, open your websites cPanel (usually through an option in your hosting account)

In cPanel on the right side there is a section labelled "General information" under which you will find the shared IP address of your website.

    2. Now login to your domain hosting account and find a button next to your domain labelled ''manage'' or ''edit''. Then somewhere on your screen should be a button with "DNS records" and/or "Nameservers". It might be different for each case, but the option is there.

    3. Here under the DNS/Nameservers you can see a list of different records, but what we need right now is the A record with the IP address in it. Press edit and change the value to the IP address you saw in your cPanel.

    4. Now remember that the DNS propagation might take a while. It might be 15 min and it might be 48 h.... Usually it is the latter. And one tool to check the status of the progress is on your PC. In windows search bar write CMD and open the program. There you can use a command - ''ping'' to see whether or not the new IP address is associated with your website. Just enter ping followed by your website name and press enter.

When the ''ping'' is called for a while you would still see the old IP address as the new one has not yet propagated. But when this happens, you will see your newly entered IP address instead of the old and the website should be once again reachable.
